Crockett
Traditional Timber Frames in
Eastern White Pine and Western Doug Fir, are old
fashioned “braced frames”, truly a “work of art”. Using
mortise & tenon joinery held together with wooden pegs,
Crockett Timber Frames are structurally engineered to
stand alone. As designs become more intricate and code requirements
more stringent, frames may require engineered connectors
in some joints. These connectors are hidden in the
timber and not attached to the timber surface.
Our traditional timber frames are wrapped in an envelope
with SIP wall panels R-25 and SIP roof panels R-38.
Crockett Hybrid
Timber Frames in Eastern White
Pine are a combination of a
Traditional Timber Frame, usually in the public area and
a Post & Beam/SIP system or Ultra R SIP system in the
non-public areas. The traditional timber frames are
wrapped in SIP wall panels R-25 and SIP roof panels
R-38. The other areas have SIP wall panels and either
SIP roof panels or a conventional roof system.
Crockett
Post & Beam Homes in
Eastern White Pine are an
“American alternative” available through new technology
built with heavy timber band beams integrated into the
SIP wall system. All timbers including posts, beams,
joists, rafters, & braces are field cut with lag screw
connectors & wooden pegs on exposed surfaces. Our
Contemporary frames are feature SIP wall panels R-25 and
SIP roof panels R-38.
Crockett, for
over twenty years, has only used AFM R-Control
structural insulated panel (SIP) wall & roof panels.
R-Control SIP’s have been extensively tested by
nationally recognized laboratories and have been proven
to meet or exceed all structural and fire code
regulations.
R-Control SIP’s are
heavyweights against the destructive agents of mold,
mildew, and termites. The EPS foam is treated with
Perform Guard termite protection. The entire SIP is
treated with FrameGuard which prevents mold, mildew, and
termite damage to its wood components. SIP’s provide
superior insulation with its high R values. The solid
construction of SIP’s block wind & moisture, providing
optimum comfort for temperature, noise and dust control.
Heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems can be
downsized with R-Control SIP’s, creating significant
energy savings.
