Difference between Timber-Frame Homes & Post & Beam Homes

 Post and Beam Homes are any homes  that have upright posts supporting horizontal beams held with Lag Bolts, Spikes or metal brackets. In Crockett Post &Beams the panels and beams are integrated together.

Timber Frames Homes are a specialized version of  post and beam using rmortise and tenon, joinery held in place with wooden pegs very similar to the way furniture is made. The Frame is the structure which supports the house together. This creates plenty of design flexibility as you do not have load bearing interior partitions. Crockett's Timber Frames are then wrapped with R-25 R-Control Panels from the outside & R-32 Roof Panels.

Crockett Timber Frame Homes Feature:

• The standard wall panels are R-25 R-Control Structural Wall Panels with Laminated Gypsum and the Air-Flo Stress-Skin Roof Panels with Laminated Gypsum are R-38.
• EPS Insulation:
  • contains no CFC's, no HCFC's, no HFC's
  • contains no formaldehyde
  • has no R-value drift
  • is recyclable, inert and non-nutritive
• Lower energy and insulating costs.
• Our energy efficient panels are made by AFM and come with a manufacturer's Lifetime Delamination Warranty, a 20-year renewable R-Value Warranty and a 20-year renewable Insect Warranty. In addition, all panels come with the Underwriter's Laboratories Certificate of Inspection.

Our standard timber frame homes are  made of eastern white pine, & Douglas fir.  and other species are also available. In addition, we offer a broad range of partial timber frame and/or decorative timber frames to meet your budget needs.
